Operations Documentation
Setting up the hub, credentials, SNA enrollment, updates, health, and routine maintenance.
Product Area
Operations
Setting up the hub, credentials, SNA enrollment, updates, health, and routine maintenance.
Set Up The SHA
The end-to-end first-setup order: initialize, license, site, SNA, credentials, discovery, repository, pattern, group, and scheduled backups.
Credential Vault
The central credential store on the SHA: encrypted at rest, scoped per appliance, with connection tests - and every supported credential type and its options.
SNA Enrollment Overview
How Sendense Node Appliances enroll with SHA and why deployments often include more than one.
Updates And Version Management
How Sendense components receive new versions, how update readiness is checked, and how update status is tracked in the GUI.
Maintenance And Health
How to monitor system health, reports, and appliance status, and run routine maintenance from the GUI.
HTTPS Certificate Management
Inspect, generate, or upload the TLS certificate that secures the SHA web interface and API, and plan around expiry.
Encryption Key Management
Create, escrow, verify and delete AES-256 backup keys, and preserve the .skey file and passphrase needed for appliance disaster recovery.
Database Settings
Right-size the memory the SHA metadata database uses for backup metadata, and apply the change with a safe, gated restart.
Background Processes
The Process Gateway view of the helper processes behind restores, consolidation, and validation - and how to stop jobs or restart the gateway safely.
Performance Settings
How to size SHA concurrency with profiles or custom limits, tune the Backup Data Engine, backup admission, boot-evidence capacity, and replication safety timers.
Appliance Disaster Recovery
Recover a Sendense Hub Appliance with recovery secrets and encrypted bundles stored in backup repositories, separate from workload failover.
Users And Role-Based Access Control
How SHA accounts, roles, and permissions work: managing users, revoking access, session timing, sign-in lockout, and the audit trail.
External Monitoring
Integration reference for the read-only monitoring API: create a token, authenticate, and every endpoint's request and response for Prometheus and dashboards.
What firewall ports does Sendense need?
One outbound port from each SNA covers normal operation. Only direct site-to-site replication needs more.
Why is my update blocked or waiting?
The update safety gate found genuinely running work. Unsafe work blocks; re-runnable work drains.
